Easter Eggs - the Old Fashioned Way

My Aunt Lisa is a WHIZ in the kitchen!

While we were in Kanab this past week she came over from Veyo for a few days with her daughter (my 8 year old cousin!) and we dyed easter eggs the old fashioned way - with roots and leaves gathered from the yard, and red onion skins. Pretty incredible. I have never done it this way before. Beautiful!

Here is the brew - boiling in the pot. I thought it looked really pretty. The smell was a little weird though!

Here is Aunt Lisa, wrapping the raw eggs with the leaves, held together with thread.

The eggs are then dropped in the pot and boiled and dyed all at the same time. They came out beautifully!
