Back into the Work Force

I accepted a job yesterday with California State University in their summer arts program. The job is full time in June and July only, and part time (just 15 hours a week) the rest of the year. Perfect.

CSU Summer Arts began in 1986 as a dance program housed on the campus of CSU Long Beach. The program moved to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, then Humboldt State, then CSU Long Beach again, and most recently, CSU Fresno, where they have been for the last eight years. They have now expanded the program to include theatre, media, visual art, creative writing, music, and yes, dance. I will be involved with all the ins-and-outs of putting this program together and keeping it running...yes, back to event planning, but in an ARTS program! Fantastic!

The transition to me working outside the home again shouldn't be too hard on the kiddos. Through May I will be working 3 hours a day in the morning, and since Dylan is in afternoon kindergarten, we will sign him up for campus club at the school in the mornings. It won't affect Zack at all. The only change will be in June and July - Matt is teaching summer school so we'll have to get a sitter until he gets home, and I am going to try to get a day off during the week and work on Saturdays to minimize babysitter time. That way they will be with me or with Matt a lot of the time.

I'll take June and July off from teaching voice lessons, but will resume teaching once I go back to part time in August.

A new adventure!!
